Program Outline

Theory Training

During Theory Training the trainer guides trainees through a comprehensive and interactive review of the operator workbook covering all applicable OSHA, State & Company regulations.  We also cover different equipment types such as different sizes & associated applications, safe operating procedures, general work place safety & pre-use inspections just to name a few.

Theory Evaluation

Theory Evaluation starts with a written test based on the concepts covered in the operator's reference manual. These tests are graded and returned to the trainees and then reviewed to ensure understanding. A minimum score of 70% is required to pass this phase of the program.

Practical Training

Practical Training is the hands-on portion of the program where trainees are shown the pre-use inspection, safe operating procedures, and parking/shut-down procedures.  All trainees will then have the opportunity operate the equipment and practice the skills they learned during Theory Training under the helpful eye of the program trainer in a safety controlled environment.

Practical Evaluation

During Practical Evaluation trainees are assessed to assure they have reached a minimum skill level and are individually evaluated using the equipment in a reasonably challenging course. Following this evaluation, trainees are de-briefed and given the opportunity to address any issues they may have regarding any phase of the program. Each successful trainee's employer will receive official records and documents shortly after the end of the program.

All training is delivered using the Ives Training Group Program.
